As of 12th January 2009, International travelers who are seeking to travel to the United States under the new Visa Waiver Program are now subject to enhanced security requirements.
All eligible travelers who wish to travel to the USA under the Visa Waiver Program MUST apply for authorization using the ESTA website:
Just a tip to be prepared at US Immigration that these days they take photographs and fingerprints at the immigration desk. Nothing sinister but if you get nervous flying then don't be when they ask you to do all these bits and pieces.
