Harrods in Knightsbridge is a great sightseeing todo

Travel Tip posted by cicero

Harrods in Knightsbridge (closest to Knightsbridge Tube) is awesome. It is massive for a start and it goes over alot of floors. You can walk among some really high end fashion and home furnishings. They have an amazing Food Hall on the ground floor which you can sample stuff from and buy bits here and there. They have so much food it is overwhelming, you can do your grocery shopping there or just shop by food style and country. They have a kids section on the higher floors, and on the top there is an electronics/hi-fi area and a CD/DVD/Book shop.

Wunjo Guitars - Denmark St - London - Best guitar shop on Denmark St

Travel Tip posted by cicero

Wunjo Guitar means there is only one place to go to if you are going to buy a guitar on Denmark St. I regularly walk up and down Denmark St looking at the guitars they have and trying a few out here and there but the guys at Wunjo are different for a few reasons.

1: They let you play the stuff without making you feel watched or like an idiot

2: They know what they are talking about

3: They will go out of their way to help you

4: They are friendly

5: They have some great guitars

6: Most importantly they have the best prices in town

Shopping in Neal St near Covent Garden, London

Travel Tip posted by cicero

If you are looking for some good shopping when traveling to London make sure you check out Neal St and surrounding areas. They have some cool shoe and clothing stores that are a step away from the big clothing stores. Much more boutique in style. It is right near Covent Garden so it will be in your sightseeing path at some stage and part of the area is called the Seven Dials.

Apple Store on Regent St and Free Wifi!

Travel Tip posted by cicero

If you love Apple then make sure you have a look at the Apple Store on Regent Street in London. It is right near the Oxford Circus Tube Station so easy to get to. Or you could get out at Piccadilly Circus and walk up Regent St which is quite nice but takes a bit longer. All the Apple goodies and the Apple shop is really nice.

Free wifi of course.

Westfield Shopping Mall in London ain't bad on a wet day

Travel Tip posted by cicero

If your travelling to the UK then chances are you are looking for the unique and special experience of shopping on the UK High Street, walking up and down the stores and getting a nice feel for what England is like (although the high street aint what it used to be in England). You could also enjoy traversing the many wonders of the blocks from Oxford Circus to Piccadilly Circus.

Top Shop in London is a must

Travel Tip posted by cicero

Top Shop in London is a must go to Shopping store. They have 3 or 4 floors of really great womens and mens fashion. It is affordable and there really is something for everyone. Totally cool fashion. They don't sell online yet so you have shop instore.

The TopShop store on Oxford St is the best. There are a few TopShops in London but the Oxford St one is the best and biggest.

Great music instrument shop in Rotorua if you need some music essentials on the go.

Travel Tip posted by cicero

This isn't an advert for the shop. I only mention it as I travel with my guitar and from time to time need strings, or picks etc. In fact I needed a case once after the airlines destroyed it. And once I was travelling with my Violin and the hair on the Bow just all collapsed!

The Rock Shop in Rotorua is part of a chain and on the whole the chain is pretty average. Lot's of cheap stuff which is good for learners and school kids. If you want some serious gear and good advice speak to Daryl Cogger. Top bloke.

Syliva Park is a good Shopping Mall to visit if in Auckland

Travel Tip posted by cicero

I think London has a few Shopping Malls but this is new, shiny and has a few decent shops and restaurants including wagamama. It has plenty of parking and you can get the bus there. The website has a store finder on it which will do a better job than me but I know it has a baby factory, warehouse, dick smiths, borders, esprit, portmans, dotti, mooks, colorado, just jeans etc etc etc

If your buying electronics in Hong Kong don't get sucked in by the bright neon lights stores

Travel Tip posted by cicero

If your buying Electronics in Hong Kong it can be easy to become overwhelmed by all of the options and let me preface this by saying I love Hong Kong.

General rule of thumb applies here - if it looks too good it probably is. I have been to HK many times and on my most recent trip I wanted a Video camera. I went to one shop who gave me a price on one of the Cameras in the window display of one of the bright neon lit stores you will see, generally in Kowloon around Nathan Road or the Golden Mile.

This is the usual sales routine as I tried it on a couple of them :
