Before taking a bicycle / cycle rickshaw in London get a price from the rider!

If you are traveling to London and are anywhere around the Regent St, Soho, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square area then you will see a few bicycle taxis / pedicabs / rickshaws which will be happy to take you anywhere.

I know it looks romantic, even on a cold winters night but make sure you get a price BEFORE getting in the rickshaw. I have known many a person to get fleeced on these things but being over charged terribly.

The bike taxis usually try to overcharge in front of visitors which makes it to embarrassing to dispute. Even if you are on a first date and trying to impress make sure you ask before getting on. No date will hold that as unromantic.

And preferably don't pay till you get there even though you have agreed a price.

I am not saying all pedicabs in London are dodgy but it is to easy to rip people off on them. Especially unknowing Tourists.
