Travelling to NZ - Here are the NZ Weather Seasons
In New Zealand (NZ) it really can be 4 seasons in one day although Global warming is certainly boosting the Summer temperatures.
Anyway - I thought it might help people traveling to New Zealand to know the seasons and what to pack.
Summer, between December and March is warm and doesn't seem to rain much. Perfect for a surfing holiday or summer mountain hiking and caming. Can get some really good Lord of the Rings scenery hikes in here.
Autumn runs from April to June. It can change quite a bit so if you are packing clothers then you will want to try to cover your bases. A light waterproof will be good. Like a cheesy North Face or something.
Winter cometh from mid June to early September is really the best time for skiing, snowboarding and all the other winter fun activities.
Spring is between September and December but don't assume it will be warm. It will be warmer but the weather can still be changeable. So pack for 4 seasons just incase.
Hope that helps anyone traveling to NZ from overseas.
